Terms of Service

What these terms cover

Shoofly has two tiers:

• Shoofly Basic — free, open source, governed by the MIT License. These Terms of Service do not apply to Basic.
• Shoofly Advanced — paid subscription, governed by these Terms of Service.

By purchasing Shoofly Advanced, you agree to these terms.

The subscription

Shoofly Advanced costs $5/month, billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel at any time.

Install tokens

After purchase, you receive a personal install token. This token is:

• One-time use — each token can only be redeemed once
• Personal — tied to your subscription
• Non-transferable — you may not share, sell, or distribute your token

One token = one installation. Sharing or reselling tokens is prohibited and will result in immediate termination of your subscription without refund.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, you retain access to Shoofly Advanced through the end of your current billing period. No refund is issued for the remaining time in that period.

Refunds

We offer a refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, provided your install token has not been redeemed. Once a token has been used, no refund is available. To request a refund, email support@shoofly.dev.

What Shoofly is — and isn't

Shoofly is a security layer for AI coding agents. It is not a guarantee against security incidents. No security tool can prevent all threats.

You are responsible for your own security posture. Shoofly is one part of a defense-in-depth approach, not a replacement for one.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Shoofly Advanced is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from any security incident.

Shoofly is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Intellectual property

Shoofly and all related marks, logos, and branding are our property. You may not use them without prior written permission.

Shoofly Basic is licensed under the MIT License. Shoofly Advanced is proprietary software licensed to you for personal use under these terms. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute Shoofly Advanced.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to Shoofly Advanced immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these terms — including token sharing, resale, or abuse of the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance via the email address associated with your subscription. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
